Nowadays everything is done at the touch of a button as digitalisation is the way forward for every organization. Even our Indian public services have gone online and made communication easier for Indian citizens. in this regard, Indian Passport services also have a website where an individual can register and apply for passport and other passport related services online itself without the hassle of waiting in long queues. Below is a detailed description of how to login to the website.

Passport Seva Kendra Login - Step by step procedure.

Step 1 - In order to login to the website, you must first open the website with this URL: http://passportindia.gov.in/AppOnlineProject/welcomeLink. Please copy and paste the link in a new browser tab or windor.

Once the website loads, you will see a 4 colour column on your left hand side (as in the image below). If you have already registered before, then you must select the "Existing User Login" option (green box).

But if this is your first time, then you must select the "New User. Register Now" option (orange box). 

The "Track application status" can be used when you have already applied for the passport and you wish to know the status of your application. 

The "Check Appointment Availability" option can be used to check the available dates for an appointment at the passport office after submitting your passport issue form online.

When you choose the existing user option or the New user option, you will be directed to the following page (see image below). If you have already registered before and have a login id, you must enter your login id below and click on continue. But if you are a new user, then you must select the option "Register (New User)" and then you will be re-directed to another page where you can fill up your particulars.

In case, you already have an active account in the passport seva kendra portal and you forgot your passport seva kendra login ID or password, you must select the "Having trouble logging in" option. In this segment you must type in login ID and enter date of birth. There are two ways to reset your password.

Option 1: A message with the password reset link will be sent to your registered email id.

Option 2: You can select your hint question you had chosen during registration and answer that question, which will enable you to reset your password to a new password.

You will be directed to this page where you are expected to fill out your personal details in order to register online. 

If you are applying for a diplomatic or official passport you must register to apply at CPV Delhi and for normal/regular passport holders, you must select the "passport office". Then from the dropdown list, select the city where you are applying for the passport (this must be as per your current residential address). 

Given name must be your first name which is followed by your surname/fathers name/spouse name in the next box.

 Type in your email id in the email id column and select yes in the next line to use the same id as our login id. This will make it easy for you to remember your login id. Then, enter your preferred password. you must ensure that your password has at least one Uppercase character.

In the Hint Question, click on the dropdown list and you will find a list of easy questions, such as; favourite colour, favourite food, birth city,, etc. Select any option which is easy for you remember and in the next box enter the answer to your chosen question. 

After this, enter the characters shown in the display as it is because they are case sensitive. Once completed, click on register and you will automatically be taken to your account home page.

On your account homepage, you will find a list of services that can be availed online. select the one which you want and you will be directed to another page to complete the details required to process your required service.

If you had chosen the "apply for fresh passport / re-issue of passport" you will be directed to a page as shown in the image below. there are two alternatives to submit your online application.

Alternative 1: download the form and fill it as per your convenience offline. then again login to your account and upload the filled up form.

Alternative 2: You can fill up and submit the form online itself provided you have good internet connection.

Once the form is uploaded on the site, you can then check the available appointment time and select as per your convenience. you must attend the interview with all the required documents and after a police verification, your passport will be delivered to you in the stipulated time.
